The System was a magical program made by the Architect to find a suitable vessel for the late Shadow Monarch Ashborn to pass down his powers to stop the war between the Monarchs and Rulers. However in truth, Ashborn lied to the Architect and actually intented to make this person his vessel, which later turned out to be Sung Jinwoo, making him the one and only "Player" of the System. After Jinwoo becomes the true Shadow Monarch, in the sequel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, he later replicated the System to his son Sung Suho for the same purpose to make him stronger by leveling up.
Functions[]
- Exclusive to the "Player": The System is personalized just for the Player, like Jinwoo and Suho. Only they can see the interface that appear in front of them and is fully invisible and uninteracble to others.
- Quests and Rewards: The Player is given tasks or quests that, upon completion, grant them unique rewards. These could be new abilities, items, or other bonuses that help them become stronger.
- Leveling and Stats: The Player can level up their own abilities by increasing various stats, which include strength, vitality, agility, intelligence, and perception. Each stat impacts their overall abilities and helps unlock new powers as they improves.
- Inventory and Store: The System offers an unlimited inventory to store magical items, weapons, and other resources. Additionally, there is an in-game store where Jinwoo can buy items using gold currencies that they earn by killing enemies.
- Life-Protection Mechanism: The System also has a built-in function to protect Jinwoo’s life. It activates their passive skills to keep them safe, especially in life-threatening situations. If an opponent has deadly intentions, like during a fight with Goto Ryuji, the System will warn them or intervene in some way.
- Creation Purpose: The System was designed by Kandiaru to help Jinwoo’s body adapt to Ashborn’s immense powers. It was meant to ensure Jinwoo could fully absorb those powers without dying or being overwhelmed by them. The system's interface is intentionally made to be understandable to Jinwoo, so he can easily navigate and use it.
