The Megaphone Hacking Gun is a major item in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. This bullhorn-like device is a hacking gun that serves as Komaru Naegi's, the main protagonist of the game, main weapon as she fights for survival in Towa City.
Not much is known about the origins of the Megaphone Hacking Gun. But is was presumably created by the Future Foundation in order to fight Monokuma Units ad other agents/members of Ultimate Despair.
After being used by Byakuya Togami to fight a Monokuma while rescuing Komaru Naegi, the weapon was given to Komaru and was used by her throughout the game in order to defeat Monokumas that threatened her and Toko Fukawa, the latter of whcih explained how the device worked to the girl.
In Ultra Despair Hagakura, another megaphone was given to Kanon Nakajima by Yasuhiro Hagakure.
Trivia[]
- It is sometimes known as "Megaphone-Model Hacking Gun".
- In the first trailer for Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, the megaphone's sidebar used to resemble Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc’s health bar (Influence bar) from this game and the Truth Bullets. The Megaphone Hacking Gun had some minor differences from the final release. The early design featured a more gun-like model when not in use, and whenever Komaru took it out of her case it would become the megaphone gun to destroy the Monokuma Units in Towa City.
- Pointing the Megaphone Hacking Gun at Toko Fukawa or Haiji Towa will cause them to duck defensively.
- The Dance Truth Bullet fired from the Megaphone Hacking Gun causes Monokuma units to perform a variety of dances seen within the franchise, such as a dance Monokuma uses in the anime adaptation's opening.
- Humorously, firing a Paralyze Truth Bullet while Toko is standing in water will cause her to spasm in midair.
