Magical Charms are certain objects created by the Ladybug Miraculous holder to prevent further akumatizations and amokizations of a specific person. They play a vital role in the fourth season of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
Appearance[]
Magical charms are small, round and modeled after a ladybug with a black string attached. Each individual Charm is unique, taking on the coloration of the person's akumatized form. The string can be extended to an unknown length, allowing the charm to be worn as a necklace.

Once the Ladybug Miraculous holder summons the Lucky Charm, in addition to the Charm itself, they receive a modified new suit. After the Lucky Charm object serves its purpose and the Miraculous Ladybug has been used, the modified suit reverts to the holder's standard costume.
Immediately succeeding this, the holder's yo-yo creates a Magical Charm to gift to the de-akumatized person. When worn by the akumatized person in their unempowered form, the Magical Charm prevents the Butterfly Miraculous/Peacock Miraculous holder from once more akumatizing/amokizing them. As seen in "Queen Banana", once the person wears it as a necklace, brooch, or bracelet, it creates an invisible glowing vivid magenta force field around the person that only activates when an akuma comes near that person, preventing akumatization, no matter what emotion they possess. But according to Ladybug, the charm will not work unless the de-akumatized person accepts it willingly, either directly from Ladybug herself or from another person.
Whether the Magical Charm protects the person from once again assuming the same form they were in before being gifted the Charm, or if it protects from akumatization/amokization in general is currently unknown.
According to Ladybug in "Mr. Pigeon 72" and "Sole Crusher", Magical charms are able to protect the individual from negative emotions, preventing Shadow Moth from bothering them any further.
