History[]

Snapshot22

In the 21st century, an unnamed terrorist organization based from the Middle East has risen to power and seeks to conquer the world, aiding its ambitions is numerous hostile governments, namely the Soviet Union (although according to the package art, it is actually aided by extraterrestrial forces). The United States military forces are struggling to fight back against his powerful enemy, so in order to turn the tide in their favor, they select an unnamed pilot (the player) to manned a brand new state-of-the-art stealth fighter called the F-119D and launch it into battle aboard its Super Transporter.

The stealth fighter travels to various points across the globe, where it encounters various enemies in the form of hostile aircraft, in each mission, the stealth fight must shoot down a certain percentage of enemies, after which it will encounter a large bomber-like aircraft or mech known as a "Super Carrier" which it must destroy in order to complete the mission. After each mission is completed, the craft docks onto the Super Transporter, before traveling to the next location.

Once all the Super Carriers are destroyed, the stealth fighter will attempt to dock onto the Super Transporter one final time, only to witness it getting destroyed by an unknown enemy aircraft. From the looks of the enemy that brought down the Super Transporter it is clearly a stealth aircraft - In fact, the final enemy resembles an outright carbon copy of the F-119D. The two belligerents then engage in a one-on-one dogfight, which proves to be very intense. In the end though it is the F-119D that gains the upper hands and destroys the formidable enemy.

With the final enemy destroyed, the terrorists' plot for world domination is foiled. The pilot contacts their headquarters, stating that he has completed the final mission successfully. To which HQ commends his efforts and orders the pilot to return back to base. The stealth fighter then flies off into the sunset.

The F-119D Stealth Fighter has a basic arsenal consisting of two weapons: a Twin Vulcan and a set of Sidewinder Missiles. In addition to these, the stealth fighter also has a limited fuel supply, which upon depleted will cause the aircraft to plummet from the sky, losing one life in the process. The craft is durable, but if it takes too many hits, the result will cause the aircraft to go down. Certain areas will not function if they are damaged from enemy fire, most notably the engines, while others such as wings will cause the aircraft to consume fuel faster when damaged. The HUD will keep track of how much fuel the F-119D has, as well as how much damage it has sustained and where.

  • Twin Vulcan - fires a twin machine gun that travels directly towards the reticle on the fighter's HUD. The weapon has unlimited ammunition.
  • Sidewinder Missiles - fires a heat-seeking missile when the HUD displays a "locked-on" signal. The missiles deal more damage than the Twin Vulcan and have high accuracy, but in turn have limited ammunition, which can only be replenished either in between missions or by using Spare Parts.
  • Spare Parts - after destroying a Super Carrier, in addition to being repaired, refueled, and restocked with missiles, the stealth fighter will receive a Spare Part which will automatically when certain conditions are met. Up to two Spare Parts can be held at any time.
    • Auto Repair - automatically repairs the aircraft when it sustains three hits.
    • Missiles - restocks the fighter with 78 Sidewinder Missiles once its arsenal is depleted.
    • Fuel - automatically refuels the fighter once its fuel is empty.
