Endeavor was originally a very successful navy fighter serving on the side of Gun Dog revolutionary force. Its original purpose was to allow the squadron to operate off from aircraft carriers, thereby increasing the squadron's operational reach. But the Great War between revolutionary and the dictator's military broke, and the revolutionary's navy in which Endeavor was part of is decimated. To make matters even worse Endeavor's brief heydays have been past, and it had become far outclassed by many of the newer fighters serving the squadron. Hastily mothballed into the service during the revolutionary's desperate hours Endeavor underwent a heavy modification, reequipping and reformatting with various weapons and is hurriedly dispatched into the battle.

Endeavor along with its sister fighters were tasked with 7 various missions in destroying the enemy military. True to its purpose, Endeavor used its modified weapons to provide support and defense, enabling other Gun Dog fighters to expand their operational reach. After flying over various landscapes of Planet Cranass Endeavor and its fellow Gun Dog fighters penetrated into the enemy military's final fortress and destroyed their heavily fortified headquarter after a fierce battle, all the while braving the savage resistance from the dictator's elite units. Gun Dog's mission is succeeded greatly by Endeavor and its Gun Dog sister fighters' activities. Dictator's military suffered serious setback because of their defeat in the Great War and is forced to abandon the capital as they retreated after quickly gathering whatever remains it can salvage. Finally, a long period of intense war is finished.

Legacy[]

With the end of the Great war, also came the end of Endeavor. After its heroic fight one last time against Cranassian imperial military and its dictator ousted, Endeavor was given a hero's departure and decommissioned. Its special weapons were given to three successor prop-engine fighters:

Flying Ray inherited Endeavor's laser-based sub-weapon (L) called Wide Angle Laser capable of shooting 3 sets of side diagonal lasers.

Dcou17b-abc72fa4-ea8e-4db8-a408-7a2d9a95ee7c

Griffin inherited Endeavor's missile-based sub-weapon (M) called Destruct Mines capable of releasing aerial mines or parachute bombs that can nullify enemy shots.

Dcou181-58e48992-cd43-4762-82d1-36f56eb1d44c

Eraser inherited Endeavor's concentrated main cannon shots. Contrary to the profile displayed, Endeavor's main shot speed is not fast.

These three fighters make their debuts in in both Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Drive and Raiden Fighters Jet. These three new fighters would carry the legacy of Endeavor. Farewell, old soldier.

Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive[]

Endeavor (sort of) makes a cameo appearance in an airfield stage of Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive. It is revealed that there are other models of decommissioned Endeavor fighters sitting at the airfield. A number of them would be destroyed during the former imperial military's assault on the airfield.

Powers and abilities[]

This is a hard-to-use plane with specialized attacks that do not ease the burden of its use. It is both slow and weak, making it difficult to use for both survival and scoring purpose. This is power-wise a very weak and slow plane in terms of speed. Even when fully powered up, its main weapon is still very weak. This is the plane that average players have the most trouble using. However, the Endeavor is the only plane whose armaments is capable of neutralizing enemy bullets (with its Missiles or Time-Release Bomb): with a defensive special charge attack, being its Charged Missile, which surrounds her with explosions that absorb all enemy fire. With its Laser Weapon, the special's charge time is instantaneous. Even these advantages do not make Endeavor easier to use. This plane is recommended for advanced players and not recommended for solo play.

Trivia[]

  • Endeavor is the only fighter plane of Gun Dog squadron to be decommissioned completely whereas Aegis, Chaser, Beast Arrow and Devastator were modified, reformatted then rechristened with new names and continue to serve as simulation trainers even after retiring from frontlines.
