The Eliminate Scanner AD is the main protagonist of the 1991 PC Engine shoot 'em up Rayxanber II. It is the successor to the RT-X-32, as well as the second of the RT-X series of starfighters. The spacecraft was built to fight back against the Zoul Empire after the latter returns for a second time to invade the Earth and wipe out the human race. Its arsenal is identical to that of its predecessor.
History[]

Sometime after the events of Rayxanber, Earth experiences a brief period of peace following the humans' miraculous victory against the Zoul Empire. However, that all changes when out of nowhere, a familiar enemy appears out of nowhere and invades the planet; the culprit: none other than humanity's old enemy: the Zoul Empire. The alien invaders refused to give up against its goal of invading Earth and wiping out humanity, so in retaliation for their previous defeat, they launch a second, much larger invasion against the planet as it was still recovering from the previous invasion. Caught off-guard, the humans were quickly overrun by the alien invaders, their defenses were once again no match against the Zoul Empire's superior forces and weaponry; but all hope wasn't lost yet. In response to the invasion, the humans construct a brand new RT-X spacecraft to replace the RT-X-32. The new fighter, dubbed the Eliminate Scanner AD contained the same weapons and abilities as its predecessor, allowing it to fight back against the Zoul Empire for a second time, but the enemy was prepared. This time, humanity gave the starfighter a 1 to 78 million chance of success, far lower than the probability during the first invasion, but nonetheless the bleak chances didn't deter the fighter, as it was launched to defy those odds and defeat the Zoul Empire once again.
The spacecraft travels up to Earth's orbit, where it battles the Zoul forces that are preparing to invade the planet, eliminating them and their commander in the process. It then flies into various other environments across Earth's surface, battling the enemy forces that have already stationed themselves on the planet. Finally, the fighter locates the hidden base that the Zoul Empire has stationed its leader within and infiltrates it, battling some of the heaviest hostile resistance encountered on its mission. After plowing through the bulk of the defenses, the Eliminate Scanner AD confronts the Zoul Empire's new leader, Gala-Xi-Domen and battles them in an intense battle. Gala-Xi-Domen attacks the small spacecraft with a barrage of projectiles, before constantly following the craft's every movement within its lair, though despite its efforts, the Eliminate Scanner AD manages to destroy them in combat, causing the base to self-destruct in the process. The Eliminate Scanner AD retreats from the exploding base by taking a high-speed escape route, narrowly escaping the same fate as its enemy.
Although having thwarted of its goal the second time, the Zoul Empire would try its luck once more...
Weapons[]

The Eliminate Scanner AD's arsenal is identical to that of its predecessor. In addition to a default primary cannon, the spacecraft can use a total of three secondary weapons that are obtainable by colored power-ups dropped by enemy carriers, doing so will equip two options above and below the craft to fire the secondary weapons. The power-ups possess a unique ability, where they will rotate 90 degrees clockwise every second, and collecting the power-up will also determine the direction the secondary shot will fire (either front, side, or rear). All secondary weapons can also be charged by means of a power meter which unleashes a more powerful charged attack.
- Cannon - the default weapon of the Eliminate Scanner AD, it fires a single, rapid-fire shot straightforward that can destroy most small Zouls easily.

Ice Storm - fires four icicle-shaped lasers in a spread. When charged, it will fire 8 lasers in all directions from the craft.

Fireball - fires two energy balls which explode into a small explosion upon hitting an enemy, dealing additional splash damage. When charged, the energy balls will home in on the nearest enemies.

Lightning - fires a rapid-fire lighting shot that penetrates through weaker enemies and deals high damage. When charged, two energy spheres will surround the craft and circle it in a medium range, dealing contact damage to anything they hit.

Thruster - though not technically a weapon, this useful tool allows the Eliminate Scanner AD to perform a quick dash maneuver in any direction, allowing it to evade incoming enemy fire or obstacles, which becomes essential in later levels. There is a cooldown period after usage.
